Committed to fast responses, transparent follow-through, and open-door support for your concerns.

Hi everyone! I’m Sean Wan from Class of 2027, majoring in Applied Mathematics & CS. Beyond academics, I’m also serving in the DKU Running Varsity, and I’ve previously served as an Orientation Leader, and events coordinator for the Campus Activities Board including the Halloween Runway Show and the Yule Ball.

I’m running for Co-Chair of the SLB to turn your voice into visible outcomes. Over the past two years I’ve witnessed what’s happening around DKU, from academic stress around GPA/majors to crowded dining spaces—students deserve timely responses and transparent follow-through. As a person who has been through all of this, I completely understand how important they matter to students, and I wish to do anything to help. My approach is simple: listen widely, act quickly, and report back accordingly and efficiently.

If elected, I’ll be accountable through three clear commitments:

1. 48-hour acknowledgment: I’ll respond within 48 hours to any observed issue to understand what’s happening and share my next steps on assisting you with it.

2. 7-day solutions public update: For campus-wide concerns, I’ll publish an initial update within 7 days: what’s been done, who owns it, and our timeline, and keep it updated on a regular basis.

3. Monthly Open Forum + Public Tracker: I’ll host a monthly open forum and maintain a public tracker summarizing what we’ve fixed, what’s in progress, and what’s next. This is also the time you can feel free to raise ANYTHING that is concerning you, which we’ll make sure to put on our to-do list.

Your voice matters—YOU are an essential part of DKU, and I’m more than willing to support and serve every individual in our DKU community. Bring it—we will bring it up; Speak up—we will speak it out. United we rise, and together we thrive!

Class of 2027

Probably a terrible bio. Hopefully not a terrible candidate.

Before coming to DKU, I spent nearly six years on Bulgaria’s national shooting team. Although shooting is an individual sport and teammates often viewed each other as competitors, I supported others because I didn’t believe progress had to be a lonely process, and I understood how hard the environment could feel. I encouraged them, shared what helped me handle the mental and physical pressure, and listened when they needed to talk. Over time I became someone teammates relied on, and the atmosphere around us grew more supportive. Some of them grew confident enough to challenge me in competitions. I never lost, but I was genuinely glad they felt able to try. Through this, I learned that helping others doesn’t take away from my own success.

The Student Leaders Board makes sense for me because I care about both outcomes and the atmosphere in which people work together. I do not see leadership as performative or about appearing involved; it should have purpose, not just presence. I care about this community because I live here, and I believe it is natural to want the place you spend your time in to be better. I am not applying to make big promises. I just want to do steady, practical work that contributes to a more genuine and better environment.

Outside of roles and responsibilities, I am fairly introverted (INTJ) and usually recharge on my own. I read mostly psychological thrillers, sometimes fantasy; one of my favorite books is ‘No Longer Human.’ I also watch films, play golf, and listen to metal, blues, jazz, rap, funk, 80s/90s Eurodance, and classical music.
