Class of 2029

I am passionate about connecting cultures and supporting peers to foster DKU’s vibrant community.

My name is Caroline Eckblad, a Freshman at DKU. Having lived and grown up in 3 different continents, and being mixed race, I’ve learned how shared experiences can bridge differences and create belonging. Whether leading student events at my high school, volunteering in my local community, or supporting grassroots NGO education projects abroad, I’ve found purpose in bringing people together and turning ideas into tangible impact.

I want to join the Student Leaders Board to further strengthen our sense of community, and make it one that is inclusive, supportive, and inspired by the diversity of our student body. I want to make sure every voice is heard and every idea has the chance to grow into something real.

If selected, I hope to work in the Intercultural Engagement, Diversity and Inclusion Committee to focus on initiatives that encourage cross-cultural understanding and peer connection. I’d love to organize community events that celebrate our different backgrounds. I also want to ensure that every student, especially those who might feel new or disconnected, can find a sense of belonging and purpose here.
