For you, from you. I am Anas, a freshman from Lahore, Pakistan and a normal student who encounters similar experiences like you. I see SLB as a platform to voice our collective opinions, raise our concerns and present our solutions. Whether it’s the problem of fewer food options, rigorous academics or campus development, I will advocate for what the students want. I don’t just see problems, I see blueprints for solutions and SLB is the platform to build them.
I am applying because I have a list of initiatives that, I believe, will enhance our student experience. Hence, I have drafted my manifesto, which is an amalgamation of multiple thoughts and dozens of student ideas. Be it the installation of vending machines in dorm buildings, planting more trees on campus, better career opportunities through the CSO or improvement in dining services, I will make sure whatever we do at SLB leaves a lasting impact. My past experiences in student councils and leadership make me well-versed to negotiate with both the administration and the student body. I’ll ensure that the quietest voice is given the same weight as the loudest by seeking out those quiet voices in dining halls, hallways and club meetings and translating their perspectives into my arguments.
I hope to contribute to the ongoing SLB projects by amplifying the initiatives and bridging the gap between SLB and the student body by ensuring higher engagement and outreach. For better accountability, newsletters and public office hours would provide a platform for students to see SLB’s progress. I look forward to the opportunity to serve SLB and DKU to the best of my ability and for that, I, Anas, need your support. I ask for your endorsement to convert our shared dreams and vision into reality because it’s our time now.
