Hello, I’m Ruimeng (Raymond) Zhou, a sophomore student at Duke Kunshan University intending to major in Applied Mathematics. With a strong academic foundation—recognized by the Chancellor’s Scholarship and a GPA in the top 10% of my class, I complement my studies with diverse experiences, including student workers in different departments of DKU, research and implementation projects, and club activities. I have worked as an Orientation Leader, Peer Mentor, Peer Tutor, and different teaching assistants and research assistants. I was also a core member of two clubs and founded an influential band at the school. These experiences are my precious wealth and the basis for my application. I am applying for the Student Leaders Board, specifically the University and External Affairs Committee, to harness my skills in leadership and community engagement to create meaningful opportunities for students. My experience as a Teaching Assistant, where I facilitated lab sessions and supported students, and as a Student Ambassador, where I coordinated events like Campus Day, reflects my commitment to fostering communication and collaboration within the university. If selected, I aim to bridge the gap between academic learning and professional application. I plan to organize workshops with industry professionals, develop initiatives that encourage interdisciplinary problem-solving, and create platforms for students to engage with real-world challenges. My goal is to build an inclusive and dynamic student community where individuals are empowered to explore their potential and apply their skills in impactful ways. I believe in the power of collaborative leadership to drive positive change and am eager to contribute my energy and expertise to the Student Leaders Board. Together, we can enhance our campus culture and better prepare students for successful futures.
