"People's dream never die." Be passionate for materials Ambitious, Idealism, Dedicated, Creative

Hello everyone, My name is Zhitao Wang (William). I am a freshman from Suzhou. I hold an ambitious vision—apply for PhD directly and one contribute to the field of materials chemistry and renewable energy, and ultimately make discoveries that could change the world. My passion for science stems not only from curiosity about how things work, but also from a romantic idealism: the belief that human creativity and innovation can reshape reality for the better.
I see leadership as both a responsibility and a privilege—the responsibility to listen, plan, and act thoughtfully, and the privilege to connect ideas, people, and purpose. I am someone who enjoys observing complex systems, identifying hidden problems, and proposing creative, practical solutions. Whether coordinating a team project or initiating a new idea, I strive to be a hands-on leader who ensures that every step of execution is clear, efficient, and meaningful.
Joining the Student Leaders Board is, for me, not just an opportunity to serve, but a chance to grow. I hope to play an active role in organizing and planning campus activities, while also learning to understand the collective needs and aspirations of my peers. I believe this experience will sharpen my ability to translate abstract ideas into actionable goals—an ability that will be essential both in scientific research and in future market-driven innovation.
Beyond personal growth, I aim to bring a stronger connection between research and student life at DKU. My vision is to expand access to scientific resources by fostering deeper collaborations with domestic and even international laboratories and research institutions. I hope to provide guidance, opportunities, and mentorship for students passionate about STEM and technological innovation, enabling more of us to explore the frontier of knowledge together.
Becoming a member of SLB would allow me to channel my enthusiasm for discovery into something larger—to serve the DKU community while preparing myself to lead innovation that truly matters.
