Since childhood, I have dreamed of saving lives—of animals as a vet, of people as a doctor—and I have finally decided to become a researcher. I dream of contributing to discovering new ways of curing and diagnosing the most dangerous diseases.
From my earliest years, my life has been intertwined with science.. I loved reading encyclopedias instead of fairytales when I was just five. At the same age my grandmother, a chemist and geologist, was taking me on walks, showing me different rock samples and explaining the chemistry behind their formation and vibrant colors.
When I grew older, I started organizing workshops for kids where I was explaining the science behind processes, such as immunity, that are familiar to us since childhood. These public speaking experiences ignited a passion for teaching and event organization. This newfound drive led me to tutor children from diverse backgrounds in languages and later to organize hikes and school events.
A prime example of this initiative was a public “wedding” I organized at my school with my boyfriend. We persuaded the school head to grant us permission for this performance, framing it as a fun, community-building event. After an hour of further preparation we found a wedding dress, a teacher who had previously worked as a celebrant and invited the entire school. While this “marriage” was a lighthearted joke, it confirmed my passion for organizing exciting, memorable events that bring people together and create joy.
At university, I aspire to contribute to student organizations by helping to generate a greater number of such engaging events, aiming to make campus life more vibrant and fun for everyone. I am therefore convinced that joining SLB would be a fantastic opportunity for me to contribute my ideas, passion, communication, and leadership skills to the university community.
