I’m currently a freshman planning to major in Data Science. I am passionate about politics and economics and currently serving as the Politics & Economics section editor for The LilyPad, DKU’s fully student-led magazine, which reflects stories from diverse student viewpoints. By joining the Student Leaders Board, I hope to take this a step further by contributing to student life at DKU, ensuring that student ideas, concerns, and initiatives are actively represented in campus decision-making.
Previously, I served as Deputy Head Girl and Batch Representative at my previous schools, roles in which I was responsible for bringing student concerns to the administration and advocating for peer interests. Moreover, as President of the Event Management Society, I gained experience in organizing large-scale events. Drawing upon these experiences, I hope to serve as both a liaison between students and the administration and ensure that initiatives and events organized by the Student Leaders Board are engaging and well-executed.
Under the Students Leader Board, I am particularly interested in advocating for more interschool collaborations, like the Sino-Foreign MUN and the Sino-Foreign cup, including with other Chinese colleges, to provide students with more opportunities to exchange ideas, cultures, and experiences. I am also excited to support initiatives under the Intercultural Engagement, including events similar to the language exchange program, but with a less focus on academics to allow for students to have a more casual and friendly cultural exchange. Lastly, and most importantly, based on a major student concern, I aim to advocate for increased collaboration with international firms based in China, and organize information sessions in English to ensure accessibility for international students and expand professional opportunities on campus. In summation, through this role, I hope to contribute to a more connected, active, and participatory campus community.
