Social practice programs provide opportunities and resources on exploring the social status or public social concerns in local communities and the whole society. In the past, we have organized Wuhan university site visiting, exploring minority groups in Yunnan and Sichuan, and doing research on local community collaborated with internal offices.
Exploring Jingdezhen Porcelain Heritage, Empowering Cultural Revitalization
In May 2025, 16 students from Duke Kunshan University set foot in Jingdezhen, witnessing the timeless glamour of porcelain art across ancient kiln ruins and trendy art zones. In summer 2026, our team revisited this porcelain capital to carry out extended social practice focusing on heritage inheritance and cultural communication. Through field studies, hands-on ceramic creation, and cross-cultural dialogues, students weave vivid tales of Chinese porcelain culture with youthful perspectives.
Exploring Jianchuan Intangible Cultural Heritage Collaboratively Building Rural Revitalization
From May 28 to June 3, 2024, 24 undergraduate students from Duke Kunshan University traveled to Jianchuan County, Dali Bai Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province, to carry out a social practice activity themed ‘Exploring Jianchuan’s Intangible Cultural Heritage, Supporting Rural Revitalization, and Promoting Ethnic Unity.’
