Every room I’ve ever walked into has taught me something about belonging, who gets it, who’s denied it, and who quietly builds it for others. My journey through activism and leadership began not with ambition, but with frustration: seeing how voices like mine: young, brown and female were always expected to wait their turn. So, I stopped waiting and started creating spaces instead, and that is me.
I’ve spoken, organized, and led initiatives on multiple international platforms, from COP29 to the Biden Youth Summit. In these spaces, I noticed a recurring truth: some communities are represented by a voice, but not by their culture, their achievements, or their vision. That realization drives me. Therefore, SLB feels like a natural continuation of my goals and what I value as a person. I know it’s a space where I’ll find people who care about the same things I do, dialogue, inclusivity, and impact that starts with empathy. A single townhall meeting was enough for me to understand how much this community of students is committed to creating meaningful change, and I want to contribute to it by fostering inclusivity that goes beyond dialogue.
The Intercultural Engagement, Diversity & Inclusion Committee happens to be the perfect platform for me, I hope to transform inclusion into tangible action. I want to create structured mentorship programs where students can continue the work they began in their own communities, using their skills and passions to give back, lead initiatives, and support others even from afar. Alongside this, I envision collaborative projects across cultures that tackle real-world challenges, integrating diverse perspectives with policy design, research, and applied problem-solving that connects to our majors and interests. By connecting ambition with action I want to make sure that every student’s ideas, culture, and perspective are recognized and valued.
