I’m Jessie from Class of 2028, an experienced and ever-passionate leader. In my application video for DKU, I made a promise: “I will bring my passion and abilities to tirelessly transform DKU into a more harmonious and outstanding community.” Now, the opportunity has finally arrived, and my application to join the SLB is a step toward fulfilling that promise. As an experienced leader who served as the Student Union Vice President in middle school and has been the class representative for the past six years, I possess strong communication and coordination skills. As a student union leader, one of our most significant contributions to my high school was establishing a Mid-Autumn Festival lantern fair on campus, which then became a cherished annual tradition. Additionally, together with student union members, I led the organizing process of various campus events. But DKU challenged me to think bigger. In our international campus, I’ve seen the beauty of diverse perspectives—and the occasional barriers they create. I have also noticed that many of my peers have amazing ideas or pressing concerns but hesitate to voice them, unsure of where to turn. I want to be the bridge of every small part of our school, connecting voices to action, individuals to communities, and dreams to reality. I am confident that, with my involvement, the Student Leadership Board will be filled with boundless energy and enthusiasm. Staying true to the promise I made upon joining DKU, I eagerly look forward to working alongside the outstanding leaders in SLB to make campus life richer and more organized, unite the diverse cultural groups within our community, and help DKU become an even more exceptional global campus!
