My name is Yanpei Yu, and I am a freshman at DKU with a strong passion for leadership and community building.
I am excited to apply for the position of Board Member and contribute my extensive experience to the University and External Affairs Committee. Having served as class monitor for 12 years and as a student union member for three years, I have developed strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills, as well as valuable experience working with diverse teams. Additionally, my active involvement in various student organizations during both high school and university has provided me with a well-rounded perspective on leadership.
In high school, I served as a student union member and led initiatives such as business simulation competitions, alumni interviews, and letter exchange programs, which enhanced my ability to plan large-scale events and build external relationships. Furthermore, as a member of the Grade Self-Management Committee, I organized events like the academic festival and hosted campus experience-sharing activities for younger students. My role in the student union’s publicity department allowed me to manage the school’s WeChat account and create content, enriching my promotional and outreach skills.
As the organizer of the Computer Science Club in DKU, I am currently preparing for the 2024 DevFest and have successfully invited students from NYU Shanghai to participate. This collaboration has not only increased the visibility of our club but also fostered intercollegiate connections.
Joining the DKU Student Leaders Board is a valuable opportunity to strengthen the ties between DKU and external communities. Drawing on my past experiences, I aim to promote impactful intercollegiate collaborations, enhance DKU’s external presence, and advocate for student interests. If selected, I will dedicate myself to developing meaningful projects, creating broader opportunities for students, and contributing to the cohesion and influence of our community.
