Important Note:

The SASO is committed to supporting students with documented disabilities and medical conditions by facilitating reasonable accommodations. In order to evaluate such requests appropriately, comprehensive and professional medical documentation is required for all accommodation applications.

Please carefully review the following important information:

  • Residential Accommodations
Requests for residential accommodations must be supported by clear medical evidence indicating a substantial limitation in a major life activity. Please note that single room accommodations are generally not approved for conditions such as primary insomnia, ADHD, mood disorders, or anxiety disorders. These conditions, in isolation, do not typically warrant a single room. Exceptions may only be made in rare circumstances and must be supported by strong and specific documentation.
  • Timeline for Residential Accommodation Requests
Residence Life has publish the room assignment timeline for the Fall 2025 semester. Students who intend to request residential accommodations through SASO must adhere to the deadlines and procedures established by Residence Life. Late requests may not be considered.
  • Academic Accommodations
Academic accommodations are most commonly granted for students with diagnosed neurodevelopmental disorders or other disabilities that demonstrably interfere with academic functioning. Each request is reviewed on an individual basis in accordance with applicable policies and standards.
  • Requests for Exam or Assignment Accommodations
Accommodation requests related to exams or assignments must be submitted no later than three weeks prior to the scheduled exam or assignment deadline. Requests submitted after this timeframe may not be processed in time for the requested accommodation to be implemented.

Failure to submit timely and complete documentation may result in a delay or denial of requested accommodations.
