Drop-in service provides you an opportunity to have a private conversation with our counselor without reservation. You can talk about your presenting issues, struggles or any concern you have related with using our counseling service.
In drop-in session, the counselor will assess any concerns about your safety, evaluate if your needs can be met within CAPS’s brief treatment model, and determine where services are most appropriately provided. You will leave with recommendations about next steps in your care, which may be at CAPS, another campus resource or in the community. Each drop-in session lasts 45 minutes.
In order to provide more support to hybrid students during pandemic, CAPS started to provide online Walk-in Emergency Consultation Service since 2020. This service provides you an opportunity to have a brief and confidential conversation with our counselors to address your urgent and emergent mental health concerns without an appointment. You will leave with recommendations about next steps in your care, which may be at CAPS, another campus resource, or in the community.
Each meeting lasts around 15-30 minutes. Our counselor will meet one student at a time. First come first serve. You can find out our schedule here.
Please be aware that CAPS Walk-in Consultation service is for urgent and emergent concerns only. Please contact us at caps@dukekunshan.edu.cn to schedule a regular counseling appointment. Walk-in consultation service will be closed during national holidays.
