George Hu, PsyD

I joined Duke Kunshan University on August 7, 2023 as Director of Counseling and Wellness Services (CAWS). I am a licensed clinical psychologist (California, Hawaii) from the United States, and earned my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of California, Berkeley. I also earned my Master’s and Doctoral degrees in Clinical Psychology from Alliant International University in San Francisco, California. Previously, I was the Chair of Mental Health at Shanghai United Family Pudong Hospital, and the Chair of the nationwide United Family Mental Health Network. I was also previously the Director of Psychology and Mental Health at Jiahui International Hospital. I am currently the President of the Shanghai International Mental Health Association (SIMHA).

Xinyuan Tang, M.Ed, M. Phil, LPC

Senior Psychological Counselor

I received my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from University of Pennsylvania and completed training in providing counseling through a trauma informed and multicultural lens. Prior to joining Counseling Center, I worked in community mental health settings. I take an eclectic approach to therapy drawing from dialectical behavioral, cognitive, and psychodynamic theories.

Yaojia Sun, M.A., LMHC

I received my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Peking University in June 2019, and Master’s degree in Counseling for Mental Health and Wellness Services from New York University in May 2021. Previously, I worked at By Repose LCSW PLLC in New York from August 2021 to June 2024 as the psychotherapist. I employ an integrated approach including DBT, IFS, and EFT.

Chenyi Zhu, M.A.

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies from Dickinson College (May 2020) and a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling and Behavioral Medicine from Boston University (May 2022). My clinical experience includes working in Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) and Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHP) focused on eating disorders. I utilize an integrated therapeutic approach, drawing from Unified Treatment and Relational Cultural Therapy.

I received a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Psychology from Xinyang Normal University in June 2022 and a Master’s degree in Performance Psychology from University of Edinburgh in November 2024. Previously, I worked at Lee International from October 2022 to June 2023 as an English teacher and Xinyang Third Primary School as a mental health teacher.
