Class of 2028

Serious yet nonchalant at times, passionate about community service, voice-raising and cater to students' concerns.

I am Tuong Tran, an undergraduate student from the class of 2028. Since coming to DKU, I have had a great journey for myself. As a freshman, I have experienced the novelty of liberal arts education while noticing changes that can be made here in DKU. My passion for social impact and education aligns with the Student Leaders Board’s mission to represent student voices and promote positive change within the DKU community. Having the chance to study in DKU, this multicultural experience has taught me the importance of inclusivity and cultural understanding in tackling social issues. At DKU, where diversity is celebrated, I see the need to address the student body’s diverse voices and needs. From course registrations, event hosting and campus life, there could be things to improve for the community.. Through my passion for public policy and history, I have cultivated an understanding of systemic challenges and the tools needed to address them. I could also bring leadership experience from managing my projects during high school, where I coordinate efforts ranging from outreach to internal management. This experience has honed my communication, collaboration skills for effective advocacy. Being selected into the board, I envision a future when I can help and address issues such as students’ well-being, cultural exchange and building an inclusive community. My goal is to not only represent student concerns but also to empower others to voice their ideas and bring about changes collectively. For example, I want to introduce mini fridges as the rise of undergraduates has exceeded the capability of communal fridges. I am eager to contribute my ability to the Student Leaders Board. I’m confident that I can be a part of an inclusive, supportive, and dynamic environment at DKU, ensuring that every student has the resources and opportunities to thrive.
